Today was a different kind of day. We didn't have much time and weren't riding together, so we decided to split Chipotle (boring, yes, we know) and just chat.
On our way down Tejon after crossing Pikes Peak, a homeless man asked us for change. We didn't have any on us so we kept walking. But walking into Chipotle we both had the same idea...buy the guy a burrito, of course!
So we loaded up a steak burrito and a coke and brought it to him. We asked his name and a little about himself. Name: Ron.
We told Ron we'd be around a couple times a week, and that we'd come hang out.
It was a good beginning, I think.

El Tesoro!
This Tuesday, Ciera and I ventured all the way across the street to a little place we'd been eying for a while called "El Tesoro: Restaurant and Gallery". El Tesoro means "The Treasure".

We re
ally didn't know what to expect, so this was exciting. We walked in, and it was like walking into a Mexican hut, complete with stucco seating arrangements, fire, and other assorted furnishings. Other than the entirely Caucasian wait staff, it felt very authentic. They let us sit byt the fire, and since we are both self-professed cheap-o's, we decided to share their nacho platter. Good thing because it was MASSIVE. We could not finish it. The food wasn't terrible, but it wasn't exceptional either. Probably something I could have made at home. I also wasn't impressed by the waiter who dropped a fork and proceeded to, instead of pick it up, kick it acro
ss the floor until he was out of eyesight. But all in all, an interesting experience. After we stuffed ourselves, we decided to check out what else was around and found some pretty sweet murals.
BUT FOLKS, the most hugely awesome thing we found was this old abandoned shop that we have officially decided will be my bakery/coffee/sandwich shop! That delivers! It was seriously perfect. Anyone wanna help me open a business?

Pikes Perk!

day one. where to?
it's freezing outside, snow on the ground. we have hats/scarves/gloves/coats/boots.
but it'll be great nonetheless.
we walk to Pikes Perk- it's a safe bet for our first day doin all this. Heather gets a latte but I (smoothly) forgot my money so I'll just eat an apple...
we go upstairs to find board games haphazardly strewn across a bookshelf. the only one that looks even remotely intact is "Crosswords for Dummies." bingo!
in our third game we got a lil crunched for time...can you see where we got lazy? prizes to the winners. :)
